The belief that there is just a tangential difference in the health when the body clock surpasses the required normal sleeping hours is highly erroneous. The body reacts to whatever way it is treated, hence cutting the sleeping or elongating it too long has definitely bad health repercussions which can extend to even death when the body is subjected to a dormant state for a longer time.
Triggers for excessive sleeping
The body hates being inactive for a longer time. This makes the inner processes slow and inactive. Hence, when a person sleeps in the night, they are advised not to intake a lot of food as it takes a longer time to digest. Many people sleep longer than the usual 7-9 hours just for resting and leisure. There are also many abnormal conditions faces by some people like sporadic sleeping attacks during the day and erratic sleeping periods during the night time. This is many cases is caused by depression, hypertension due to some socio economic issues haunting the mind or in rare cases hyper insomnia, sleep apnea and such sleep disorder related diseases that take a toll on the health.
Also, the people who sleep more invite a number of diseases like obesity, diabetes, etc which are long lasting and harm the body too. The people who linger on the bed for more hours remain weak and off colour most times. So be active and sleep enough for a day and get back to work to stay longer.
