Tips To Eating Healthy While Eating Out

The focus on healthy eating has certainly hit a roadblock, with most people splurging on restaurant meals twice or more in a week. If you are a lazy cook or don’t have an alternative other than eating out, a few healthy choices should come quite handy. Check these smart ways to avoid the unwanted calories at your favorite joint.

Always order salads
No matter how much you crave for that king size burgers, make sure to include at least one salad in the menu, sans the unwanted mayonnaise dressings. Salads make the stomach feel fuller faster than usual, which ensures limited calories.

Stick to small portions
Even if one can cut down one-fourth of the diet, he/she can reduce a good chunk of damaging junk gravies and food. Always choose to bring down the portions of the food, especially when you are sinking into those gravies and high calorie items.

Change your choices
Your favorite fried chicken wings can be easily replaced with boiled and grilled options, so shifting the menu choices often helps in lowering the impact of eating out. Even if you dine at restaurants for more than five times a week, making healthy choices can bring calories under control.

Don’t forget to share
Whether it is about desserts or any food item, try and share with people on the table. Sharing reduces the calorie intake, especially for sugary dishes and sweets, so you will be dropping calories right on the plate. Never order individually, because sharing means eating lesser than usual.
